Chasing the Cure Contest Winner

Congratulations to Marci Welch of Columbus, Ohio, for winning the Rheem Chasing the Cure Video Contest. Her heart and bravery in facing stage-3 breast cancer at the age of 33 is truly inspiring. During the last two years Marci has received 24 rounds of chemotherapy, nine weeks of radiation, a mastectomy, lymph node removal and brain surgery. She’s a fighter and a survivor and now she’s the Chasing the Cure contest winner.

Marci and her guest, Danielle, won a VIP race experience at the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series All-Star race, which was held on Saturday, May 18, at Charlotte Motor Speedway. On that day, Marci and Danielle visited the Richard Childress Museum in Welcome, N.C., and had lunch at Childress Vineyards, which is also owned by Rheem racing partner Richard Childress.

At Charlotte Motor Speedway, they toured the NASCAR Sprint Cup garage and pit areas, including the No. 29 Rheem hauler. They met driver Kevin Harvick in a private meeting-and-greet and took pictures with him. Marci and Danielle capped off the day by watching the All Star Race where Kevin Harvick finished 11th.
