Oklahoma Storm Victims

Bringing comfort to the Oklahoma storm victims was our first thought, our second was to find a way to raise funds for our corporate partner, The American Red Cross. On June 20 and 21, 2013, we hosted our first-ever companywide Jeans Day, asking Rheem employees throughout the U.S. to offer a donation to wear jeans to work. The participation was astounding and we can proudly say that our employees helped to raise $3,457.88 for the American Red Cross. Rheem presented our check to the American Red Cross on July 12, 2013.

We are proud to continue supporting The American Red Cross and its disaster relief efforts. As of June 18, 2013, the Red Cross served nearly 460,000 meals and snacks in Oklahoma; provided more than 6,300 overnight stays in shelters; and distributed nearly 400,000 relief items to storm victims.

“With our Air Conditioning Division located on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma, this tragedy really hit home for Rheem,” said Karen Meyers, corporate director, government relations. “Through the Heart of Comfort program, we were able to unite each Rheem location across the U.S. in a Jeans Day fund raiser. We were proud to raise nearly $3,500 for the American Red Cross’s relief efforts in the area.”
