Superstorm Sandy Relief
November 15, 2012–February 28, 2013
Rheem locations across the U.S. in partnership with distributors in the affected areas
Rheem operated out of New York City from 1938 until 2006 and we maintain offices in the Chrysler Building today. When Superstorm Sandy made landfall, it hit close to our hearts. Providing the comforts of home is what we do and we made it a priority to help those affected by the storm get back to enjoying their warm, safe homes. We set up financing programs to help homeowners with their heating, cooling and generator needs, and Rheem established a partnership with the American Red Cross. For each furnace that was shipped to a Rheem or Ruud distributor in the affected areas, we donated $2 to the Red Cross.
The combined efforts of the entire Rheem family – customers, employees, business partners, friends and the general public resulted in a $30,858 donation. The funds have helped the American Red Cross relief program, which has provided 17 million meals and snacks, 7 million relief items such as cold weather items and clean-up supplies, 113,000 health services and more than 81,000 shelter stays.
