Rheem Focuses on Innovation in 2016, Introducing New Products at IBS

Rheem to Debut Several High Efficiency HVAC and Water Heating Products at the 2016 International Builders Show

ATLANTA—January 19, 2016 --- Rheem sets the stage for a year of innovation showcasing the latest in high efficiency home comfort products at the 2016 International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas January 19-21, 2016. Located in Booth #C7308, Rheem is showcasing its new water heating, air conditioning, and heat pump products, while demonstrating EcoNet, the company’s exclusive smart technology system that connects a home’s heating, cooling and water heating systems.

“The International Builders Show is a great way to start the year, as it gives us the opportunity to showcase the depth of innovation across our product line,” said Bill Alderson, director, marketing & digital services, Rheem. “Everyone at Rheem is focused on launching high-efficiency products in 2016. We are focused on bringing builders the products, partnerships and systems that will help them achieve success this year.”

Water Heating
The Rheem booth will feature advanced, efficient Rheem electric and gas water heating units that meet, and often exceed, 2015 NAECA regulations.

The new Rheem Prestige™ Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater is one of the most advanced hybrid water heaters on the market. Using a combination of heat pump technology and standard electric heating elements, the Prestige Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater is designed to save consumers more than $4,000 over the life of the appliance and pay for itself in less than two years.

Heating and Cooling
Rheem will be previewing a prototype of the company’s new Residential H2AC™ System, which is designed to double the efficiency of a home’s water heater. This patented heat recovery system, which is currently being field tested with homebuilders, takes the heat removed by an A/C unit and uses it as an efficient source for pre-heating water. The technology is being adapted from Rheem’s Commercial H2AC System, which received the “R&D 100 Award” from R&D Magazine, marking it as one of the most technologically significant products introduced in 2014.

New for the 2016 cooling season, the company is introducing Rheem Inverter-Driven Solutions with the EcoNet-enabled Prestige Variable Speed Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps and Classic Plus™ Three-Stage Heat Pumps. The products are a complete line of 20-SEER fully variable speed air conditioning and heat pumps featuring industry-leading inverter-driven performance delivering precise controls, which maintain ideal home temperature, humidity level, and air quality at all hours of the day.

The Rheem Prestige Series R97V and Ruud Ultra U97V Modulating Gas Furnaces are new patented heating units that feature modulation operation to minimize cold spots inside the home. Both furnaces maintain consistent temperature and humidly levels, and meet ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient product qualifications. Designed with Rheem’s exclusive PlusOne™ Diagnostics, these modulating furnace units are Rheem’s most contractor-friendly furnaces ever created.

The Rheem EcoNet™ Smart Home System
The high-efficiency Rheem products shown at IBS 2016 are EcoNet-enabled. The EcoNet Smart Home System, developed by Rheem, allows homeowners to manage high-efficiency, EcoNet-enabled Rheem and Ruud products from anywhere through a free mobile app or a wall-mounted Control Center. Rheem’s line of EcoNet-enabled Electric and Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heaters are compatible with the Works With Nest program (the company’s EcoNet-enabled gas water heaters will be added to the program in late 2016). Rheem will have an EcoNet kiosk in the Nest Labs booth (#S2428) for the duration of the conference.
